Business Facilities LiveXchange,
2008 Call for Presentations
To be considered as a speaker at
LiveXchange,
please contact Mary Ellen McCandless at maryellen@groupc.com.
Are you an expert in the art of corporate site selection,
real estate, investment trends, or another area of interest
to Business Facilities LiveXchange delegates? If so,
please consider submitting your seminar, workshop, or think-tank
abstract for review by the LiveXchange Advisory Board. The
board will be selecting nine presentations for the educational
portions of LiveXchange in 2008.
Remember, we are looking for presentations aimed at our delegates—senior corporate executives (or in some cases, their designated site selection representatives) who are attending LiveXchange to learn about locations and strategies for selecting them. Our delegates are drawn from companies in all industries.
To submit your presentation(s) for consideration, please
send an e-mail to maryellen@groupc.com
with “LiveXchange 2008 Presentation Proposal” in the
Subject line. In your e-mail, please be sure to address the
following points.
-
Your name, title, and organization.
-
A brief biography outlining your experience relevant to the intentions of LiveXchange delegates.
-
Please select your preferred presentation format: Seminar, Workshop, or Think-Tank. The formats differ as follows:
-
Seminars are 55 minutes in length, and do not have a limit on the number of attendees. Typical attendance is 10-20 LiveXchange delegates. Presentations are straightforward lecture format with some Q&A possible. Sponsors attending LiveXchange (economic developers from communities who will be meeting with delegates) are welcome to attend, as are other speakers. PowerPoint presentation is typical but not required.
-
Workshops are 55 minutes in length, and do not have a limit on the number of attendees. Typical attendance is 10-20 LiveXchange delegates. Presentations are interactive throughout, with possible short exercises or polls taken by the speaker during the presentation, for example. Sponsors attending LiveXchange are welcome to attend, as are other speakers. PowerPoint presentation is optional but not required. Handouts are encouraged.
-
Think-Tanks are 85 minutes in length, and are limited to 8 attendees. Speaker acts as a facilitator of a discussion as much as a presenter of information. Handouts, exercises, and sharing of experience are encouraged. PowerPoint presentations are used sparingly if at all. Only delegates are allowed in the room with the speaker; sponsors and other speakers are not invited to attend. Held in a boardroom environment.
-
Please note that if you have special requirements, such as Internet access, we are able to accommodate your requests in most cases. Please mention any special stipulations or requirements in your proposal.
-
Write a brief abstract including the proposed title of your LiveXchange educational session, what the delegate would take away, and how you might structure the presentation (lecture with slides followed by Q&A, group exercise followed by review of results and lecture, etc.).
-
If you would like to propose multiple topics, please note them separately in number 4
