Randolph D. (Randy) Broome, P.E.

Randy Broome retired from Duke Energy Carolinas at the end of 2006 after over 23 years in various management and executive roles with the company, including 10 years in economic development. As president and CEO of Broome Consulting & Development, LLC, Broome is currently serving as consultant to senior management at Duke Energy for economic development and is also involved in various economic and business development projects in the Carolinas.
His current consulting work for Duke Energy includes managing an industrial “site readiness program” to help the region improve its large sites in order to attract more industry, chairing the Carolinas Nuclear Cluster which is a joint effort between industry and academia in North and South Carolina to support and grow industries and workforce (including engineering resources) related to the resurgent nuclear power industry, and representing Duke Energy in economic development initiatives with various counties and universities.

Chuck Swenson is Professor and Leventhal Research Fellow at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California. Prior to his appointment to USC in 1987, he was a Professor at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Author of over 100 books and articles on state taxation and the economics of state taxation, he is the Editor elect and lead author of a treatise on state taxation to be published by Lexis-Nexis.
He is co-founder of National Tax Credit Group, which specializes in location-based credits and incentives consulting and related software.

Steve Valesko

Steve Valesko has 25 years experience in Facilities Management. Starting out in Engineering for Nabisco as a project engineer, he worked his way up to Project Engineering Manager. After Nabisco, he worked for Perrier Water as Engineering Manager, East region. His responsibilities included engineering for five bottling plants and various distribution centers. Sixteen years ago, he joined Boar's Head Provisions and held positions in Facilities and Plant Management prior to his current position as Director of Engineering and Facilities.
Steve has designed and built or renovated many facilities with project costs ranging from a few hundred thousand dollars to multi million dollars. Through his years of experience, Steve has gained vast knowledge in all areas of facility construction from site search and evaluation to facility design, facility construction, and facility startup.
